Somethings Happening. . .
by The Old Hippie Because The “Allowing” Can't Be Modified - It Must Be Stopped.
Some say it's already too late. In some areas, I think they may be right, e.g. the environmental damages from laser focused short term profiting, and the purposely misinform citizenry’s ignorance, and definitely for the hundreds of thousands of innocents that have been murdered as “collateral damage” for the promotion and protection of the short term profits of the corporate profiteers that have taken over the nation’s government. Also I think it’s too late in another area, an area that requires one to fully understand our Constitution’s Article 6, specifically the phrase “Supreme Law of the Land.” [To get a clear explanation of this, see the video at the end of this posting.] No matter how one tries to rationalize it, this administration’s leaders are, since the invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003... war criminals, as defined by our own domestic “Supreme Law of the Land,” and by all recognized international laws.
{-The Way Many Picture Me-} | But is it really too late to turn it around? I’m sure most all of us really want that to not be the case. But - I honestly don’t know if it’s not already too late. The fact that the evidence of the reality of the un-hidden criminal sociopathic nature of this administration’s pro-corporate agenda of profits-over-even-life-&-nation, has been so well proven, and so in-our-faces for so long, that the denial of it is beyond any possible sane rationality. The fact that there has been no revolt, and so far no real attempted stopping of the “allowing” by the citizenry of my nation, in the face of the overwhelming evidence of the ongoing destruction caused by the few, over the many, that I think the continued allowing, and the self-destructive denial, has become, not only a disgrace, it has maybe become pathological. I admit it’s possibility scares the hell out of me. |
Some say it’s never too late. And like most of you reading this, I hope that’s true. There are signs of “somethings happening” cropping up, like when, just last week, “John Edwards fired a major broadside against corporate America and, more significantly, “corporate Democrats,” -- the likes of which hasn’t been heard from a viable candidate with national appeal in decades.” Also the observation a few days ago by Barbara Ehrenreich, “We may be witnessing the first time in history that the downtrodden manage to bring down an unfair economic system without going to the trouble of a revolution.” And just in my limited contact with others, I sense a “somethings happening” in the psyches of the masses of the many that feels like an awaking that borders on anger. Almost like the denial is finally beginning to fade. If so, it may grow, and it may not be too late. Maybe. Only time will tell, as they say. But time has a way of running out, especially for the naive that still believe that good always triumphs over evil.

I certainly hope it's not too late now. But much more than that, I hope it's not too late two years from now when (knock on wood) we are finally able to rid the White House of the plague of Bush & Co.
