Well - Now We Know. . .

Our Reality Is Now Their Reality.
by One Pissed Off Reality-Based Liberal. . .

The aide said that guys like me were "in what we call the reality-based community."...  I nodded and murmured something about enlightenment principles and empiricism.  He cut me off.
"That's not the way the world really works anymore," he continued.  "We're an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality.  And while you're studying that reality – judiciously, as you will – we'll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that's how things will sort out.  We're history's actors ... and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do."
(Ron Suskind talking to senior Bush advisor, The New York Times Magazine)

Considering the reality that they now have full control of all coming judicial appointments, absolute control of all three branches of the government, and what is left of the "balance of power," that is now solidly "one-power," one-party, united - Which is obviously no longer even slightly concerned with what the other 50% of us think, believe, or need.  Considering everything - the above quote is the most honestly accurate statement by their side in the last four years.

And having studied "that reality – judiciously," seen it coming, warned of it loudly, in e-mails, my web site, this blog, in conversations, even lost "friends" because of my harping - since before this administration - I was more prepared for this final confirmation of their consolidation of power than most of my peers, if what I'm seeing/hearing/reading from my side's disillusionment, sadness, and denial, and disbelief of this reality, is true.

Therefore - Rather than disappointed, sad, disillusioned, or shocked - I'm simply more pissed off - Pissed off that Reagan was right when he said. . . "Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction."

I am pissed off to have it confirmed that half of America are cowards to the point of destroying American Democracy for ideological religious beliefs, and manufactured fears - that half of the population can so easily fall for "Government bad - Privatization good" - that half of my nation can be so blind to their civil liberties being torn out from under them by such obvious means and purpose - that half of this country can be so truly stupid, not just ignorant.

This nation, America - in reality - with no doubt left - is now a historically and classically corrupt, Theocratic Corporatist One-Party-Ruled Imperialistic Plutocracy, with no balance of powers left, (they do have, not only control of, but a stronger control of, all three branches) - with full control of the media, the "fourth" branch, also.

That half of America that voted for this, have "their" America now.  And the rest of us, not to mention the rest of the world, including our "allies," will suffer because of their blindness and cowardliness - in ways incomprehensible to even them.

So - Yes - Pissed off best describes my emotions.  Hopefully my peers will quickly "get over it," get more pissed - And fight - Otherwise. . . We, and the world, not to mention the environment we all live in, as if it isn't bad enough now, and even the "them" that voted for this - are fucked.
