Quote Of The Day. . .

By The Most Astute Corporatist Ever Produced By The DLC. . .
by Bill Clinton, On Larry King Show, Jan. 3, 2004

"I voted for the other fellow, but President Bush won this election fair and square.  And he ought to - he ought to be able to have his inaugural.  And his supporters should be able to celebrate it, however they see fit.  And I don't think that it will detract one red cent from the money that we will give privately or publicly to this relief effort."
-- Bill Clinton

Said in response to the report of a billionaire supporter of Bush - Urging Bush to give the $40 million from the Inaugural Funds to Tsunami survivors.

Personally, I have thought of Clinton as the best Republican Corporatist since Eisenhower - At least since he and Gore signed NAFTA, and GATT into law, which was the biggest "set 'em loose on the world unrestrained" global corporatist give away in history.

The question that I wonder about is given as fact that Clinton was "The best Republican Corporatist since Eisenhower" why did the Reich Wing go after him with such an insane obsession? I have never heard a good explanation for this. I can only speculate that something was going on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Afterall when they went for blood he had only about two years left in his presidency. What was the big rush? It seems the Reich Wing suddenly went bananas. Did somebody die who was keeping them at bay? Could it be some CIA operation that Clinton canceled? Anybody know what the relationship is between Scaiffe and the Bushes?
